Timothy Robertson

Timothy Robertson is a Sydney-based designer whose work explores the intersection of nature, architecture, and culture through a process grounded in storytelling and material honesty. Born and raised in Fremantle, Western Australia, Timothy’s early exposure to his father’s furniture workshop sparked a lifelong fascination with design, craftsmanship, and Australia’s natural environment.

His practice celebrates both traditional and digital manufacturing techniques, favouring materials like stainless steel, leather, wool, and timber for their natural beauty and tactility. Working from a sunlit beachside studio, Timothy combines methodical research with intuitive creativity, often drawing inspiration from the colours and forms of the Australian bush. His design philosophy emphasizes authenticity, nostalgia, and purpose—ensuring every piece carries a distinct narrative. With a sketchbook in hand and a model-making kit nearby, Timothy continues to develop thoughtful, expressive designs that resonate on both functional and emotional levels.
