Introducing Nola by Tom Fereday: A Sculptural Statement in Light

This year, NAU proudly unveils Nola, a refined new lighting collection by acclaimed Australian designer Tom Fereday, as part of the 2025 NAU News. With its harmonious blend of natural materials, timeless form, and soft illumination, Nola perfectly embodies the NAU ethos of approachability, comfort, and simplicity.

Celebrating Honest Materials

Crafted from hand-cast crystal glass and honed solid stone, Nola highlights the inherent beauty of natural materials. Concealing its light source within, the lamp emits a gentle, ambient glow that brings warmth and atmosphere to any interior. Available in two sizes, Nola functions beautifully as both a functional table light and a sculptural centrepiece.

“Nola was designed to highlight the unique qualities of natural stone and crystal glass,” explains Fereday. “The intention was to create a timeless object that feels calm, grounded, and enduring, while offering a soft, atmospheric light.”

A Continued Collaboration

Nola marks another chapter in NAU’s ongoing partnership with Tom Fereday, following the success of collections such as Sia and Nami. Known for his principle of honest design, Fereday places materiality and craftsmanship at the forefront, creating objects that are both enduring and deeply connected to their environment.
