At Design Show Australia we unveiled Pa - an elegant new seating range designed by Timothy Robertson for Cult’s in-house Australian design brand, nau
Designed to mimic the feeling of a “big warm hug”, the new Pa seating collection is defined by its pared-back minimalism and elegant curves - an ode to simplicity, comfort and the beauty of our natural landscape. The name ‘Pa’ is a heartfelt tribute to the designer’s father, symbolising the wisdom and support passed down through generations of Australian furniture designers.
Crafted from a range of unique native Australian timbers or American hardwoods, the Pa collection includes a Lounge Chair, Dining Armchair and Counter/Bar Stool.
Styled against a striking blue backdrop, the new Pa collection was unveiled in a rich burgundy and vivid blue palette, complimented by accents of polished chrome and warm native timbers.
Additional styling elements set the scene including &Tradition Flowerpot lighting in Cobalt Blue and leafy Eucalyptus arrragements.
All elements from the stand design will be re-used in Cult showrooms; the plinths have found a permanent home at the Cult Melbourne showroom and the blue curtains have been installed at HAY Sydney, adding a vibrant pop of colour to the space.
In just six months, Timothy Roberston has excelled from winning 'Australia's Next Top Designer' at Design Show in October 2022 to launching his own capsule collection with leading Australian design brand, nau, at the 2023 edition of this event.

Pa was unnveiled exclusively in upholstery from Kvadrat Maharam, including Maharam Tinge (a rich, cobalt-blue leather) and Maharam Oxbow (a fine woven burgundy and blue check).
nau is a contemporary design brand celebrated for championing a uniquely Australian creative vision, with a versatile collection that spans both residential and commercial applications.
Pa is available for pre-order now and will arrive in stock in October 2023.
