NAU at 3daysofdesign 2026: The Moment is NAU
Australian Design Takes The Global Stage
For the second consecutive year, NAU returned to Copenhagen for 3daysofdesign, presenting an exhibition, industry events and a series of new product launches that continued the brand’s mission of championing contemporary Australian design on the global stage.
Presented under the theme The Moment is NAU, the exhibition explored the growing confidence and international relevance of Australian design—defined by authenticity, material integrity and longevity. Throughout the festival, designers, architects, media, brand partners and industry leaders gathered at The Social House to experience the latest evolution of the NAU collection and participate in conversations about the future of design.
An Australian Perspective on the Global Design Stage
At the heart of this year’s presentation was a simple but powerful idea: Australian design has come into its own.
The exhibition highlighted a distinctly Australian approach to design—one shaped by landscape, honesty of material and a commitment to creating products that endure. Through furniture, lighting and objects by some of Australia’s leading designers, visitors were invited to experience a collection that balances contemporary expression with timeless relevance.
The presentation also marked an important milestone in NAU’s international journey. Having first launched internationally in New York in 2017 before exhibiting in Germany and now Copenhagen, the focus has shifted from simply establishing a presence abroad to seeing Australian-designed products become part of homes, workplaces and hospitality spaces around the world.
Between Legacy and Contemporary: A Panel Discussion
A key event during the festival was Between Legacy and Contemporary: Continuity and Change in Design, a panel discussion held at The Social House.
Moderated by Copenhagen-based writer and editor Alisa Larsen, the discussion brought together Richard Munao (Founder, NAU), Adam Goodrum (Designer, NAU) and Anders Byriel (CEO, Kvadrat) to explore how contemporary design can honour legacy while remaining relevant to the future.
Set within Copenhagen—a city synonymous with the enduring legacy of Danish modernism—the conversation examined themes including craftsmanship, material integrity, longevity, sustainability and the evolving role of designers, manufacturers and brands in shaping design culture.
Bringing together perspectives from Australia and Denmark, the discussion reinforced the shared values that connect both design cultures while highlighting the unique contribution Australian designers are making to the international design conversation.
Following the panel, guests remained for informal networking and discussion, creating opportunities for connection between international media, designers, architects, brand partners and members of the broader design community.
NAU, Later Party
Complementing the exhibition and panel discussion, NAU also hosted the Nau, Later party, bringing together Australian and international guests for an evening of conversation, networking and celebration during the festival.
The event provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships across the global design community and further showcase the growing presence of Australian design within the international market.
Launching New Works
3daysofdesign 2026 also marked the launch of a significant collection of new furniture, lighting and shelving designs from Adam Goodrum, Tom Fereday and Nick Rennie.
The collection explored themes of softness, structure and light while continuing NAU’s commitment to clarity of form, material integrity and longevity.
New launches included:
By Adam Goodrum – Soft Spot Armchair, Soft Spot Sofa, XO table lamp, floor lamp and pendant, Arch Chair and Pier Table
By Tom Fereday – Nami Modular Shelving
By Nick Rennie – Breeze Outdoor Dining Table
Together, these new works expanded the NAU collection across seating, lighting, shelving and outdoor furniture categories, demonstrating the breadth and maturity of contemporary Australian design.
Several launches built upon established NAU design stories, including the evolution of Adam Goodrum’s Fat Tulip collection into a modular sofa system and the introduction of the Soft Spot collection, a sculptural and deeply comfortable seating range designed with longevity in mind.
Looking Forward
3daysofdesign 2026 represented another important chapter in NAU’s international journey.
Through exhibitions, conversations and product launches, the brand continued to advocate for Australian design on a global platform while demonstrating the values that define its collection: originality, craftsmanship, material honesty and longevity.
As Australian design continues to gain international recognition, NAU remains committed to creating opportunities for local designers to participate in the broader global design dialogue—ensuring that Australian design is not only seen internationally, but valued as a meaningful contributor to contemporary design culture.
The moment is NAU.
